Born and raised in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Konstantin Starodetskii received a scholarship to the New York Film Academy where he studied two years and graduated in 2016 with an MFA degree in filmmaking. Also, he attended master classes with Kenneth Johnson, Bill Duke, and Jeffrey Marcus.
Konstantin emphasizes the importance of visual storytelling and meaning placed under every image, with a little touch of humor in it.
Two worlds (2017) and Lotone (2017), directed/written/produced by Konstantin explore adverse effects that new technology may bring us and how they affect our relationships with each other. In Lotone he was the voice of "Lotone" - an omnipresent AI computer.
Currently, Konstantin lives and works in Los Angeles, where he is developing his first feature film.
